Re-Timer emits just 500 lux of light at a distance of 1 inch from the eye. Research has shown that 500 lux at the eye is as effective as a 10,000 lux light box. Research has also shown blue-green wavelengths of light to be the most effective in beating the winter blues and improving sleep. Re-Timer is built with quality materials on an ISO approved manufacturing system in Adelaide, Australia.
Re-Timer comes with an inbuilt rechargeable lithium-ion battery; a USB cable to recharge via your computer or USB wall adapter; and a premium carry case. Created by sleep experts Professor Leon Lack & Dr. Helen Wright, Re-Timer is now the highest selling wearable device of its kind in the world.
Re-Timer is worn while you are awake either in the morning or evening, depending on how you wish to change your sleep. A recommended schedule to change your sleep is typically 7 days for 30 minutes each day. Re-Time Pty Ltd was formed in 2010 to help people re-time their body clocks and improve sleep.
Initially, the company set out to develop a solution to help thousands of people improve their sleep.
Professor Leon Lack and Dr Helen Wright from Flinders University had been researching and developing the world’s first wearable green-blue light therapy device since 1987.
Over two years a team of seven engineers, two ophthalmic experts and two sleep psychologists designed Re-Timer. Over one year (1,900 hours) of work time was spent on computer-aided design alone. The team worked tirelessly to incorporate the latest sleep science from Flinders University into an ergonomic wearable device.
Four design iterations and 160 logged design changes later, Re-Timer was launched to worldwide acclaim in November 2012.
Since then, thousands of units have been sold worldwide. As the benefits of Re-Timer spread through word of mouth, demand for the technology continues to grow.
With the initial goal achieved, Re-Timer is now setting out to change the world’s sleep.
Today, Re-Timer is assembled in a state of the art clean room, in Adelaide, Australia. Re-Timer has been sold in more than 40 different countries worldwide and is the world’s number one selling wearable light therapy device.
Re-Time is dedicated to helping people sleep, and to feel and perform better by using the latest sleep science.
Right now, more than 2.3 billion people are asleep. However for many, sleep does not come easy. Scientifically conducted surveys have found that up to 50% of the whole population experience sleeping difficulty and tiredness. These same surveys find that 5-10% of the whole population suffers the more chronic, severe insomnia.

REVIEWER TYPICAL NIGHT OF SLEEP: 8 hours
REVIEWER SLEEP RELATED PROBLEMS: I have no trouble falling asleep at night; however, I get extremely tired at work in the early afternoon and suffer from the winter blues each year. Both issues affect my energy and productivity.
FULL REVIEW: I was excited to use the Re-Timer because I get extremely tired at work in the early afternoon. I also get the winter blues every year, lasting for about 4 months. The winter blues affect my ability to wake up and get going in the morning, as well as stay awake and motivated during the day. The Re-Timer is known for not only changing sleep patterns, but also for boosting energy and mood on those cold, dark, winter days.
Using the Re-Timer is easy: just press the button on the side of the glasses and slide them on. At first they may be distracting, but after 5 minutes of wearing them, you won’t even notice them anymore. The only downside is that they aren’t very discreet. People around you will wonder what you’re wearing when they first see you wearing them. But for most of the product’s use-cases, they are used in private, so the aesthetics don’t matter as much.
I saw a difference in my mood and energy level the first time I used the Re-Timer. When the 30 minutes of wearing the Re-Timer were over, the boost in energy and mood continued for hours after taking them off. They are very effective in combating seasonal affective disorder (SAD), making dark winter days feel like the first day of spring. As soon as I felt my afternoon sleepiness coming on, I put on the Re-Timer and was able to find the energy to keep working through the day. The Re-Timer is like that cup of coffee that gets you through the afternoon!
I would highly recommend the Re-Timer to shift workers, travelers, and office workers who need to change their sleep patterns or need an extra boost of energy. The Re-Timer can also be helpful for people with seasonal affective disorder. If used correctly, the Re-Timer can be used in order to achieve the desired effect of wakefulness at the beginning of the day, alertness in the middle of the day and sleepiness at the end of the day.
